RedactCheck
Who else is in this file?
Open a PDF, type the name of the person who asked for it, and this lists everyone else it can find. It reads the file inside your browser. The file is not uploaded, and it is never stored on my servers.
This is an early build, open before its launch. Leave an address for one email when it launches, with what changed and what comes next.
I’m Yunseon Hong, a sole developer, and the controller for the address you enter. I use it on the basis of your consent, for that one email, and share it with nobody. Unsubscribe in one click, or reply “stop”. The privacy notice has the rest.
Where your address goes, and for how long
- Who receives it. Buttondown, LLC, 406 W Franklin St. #201, Richmond, VA 23221, United States.
- Where it goes. The United States, on Heroku and Amazon Web Services.
- When, and how. The moment you submit this form, over an encrypted connection.
- What is sent. Your email address, and the dates you subscribed and confirmed. Nothing else.
- What it is for, and for how long. To hold the list and send you one email when the scan is live. Kept until you unsubscribe, or 24 months from signup if the scan has not launched by then.
- If you would rather not. Skip the form and write to im@redactcheck.com instead. I will tell you when it is live by hand, and nothing about that is worse for you.
Article 15(4) UK GDPR and DPA 2018 Schedule 2, Part 3 are the reason this job exists: the requester gets their data, and other people in the same file do not. Finding those other people is the slow part, and it is the part this helps with.
What you get is a list of candidates, in page order, with what each one looks like. It is a first pass. A person still reads the file. There is no accuracy figure here because I do not have one worth quoting, and the checks it cannot do are printed with every result rather than buried.
No account, no upload, no payment. When a scan finishes, the page makes one empty request to my own domain so I can count how many scans happen. It carries nothing from the file, not even its name. What that request is and why it exists is set out under Privacy.
If it saves you an afternoon I would like to hear about it, and if it misses something obvious I would rather hear about that. What this is · Privacy
